So it’s probably obvious to anyone who’s seen his work that I’m taking Michael Hampton’s figure drawing class.
I’m giddy with the fact I looked at no people during this, only his instructions and steps. It all comes down to measurement and simple shapes, then turning it into features.
Took me forever, 2 hours to be exact, but I have to do 24 more… probably be down to 20-30 mins by the time I hit the last ones.

I’m still drawing, yes indeed, just a bit swamped to always post. Work is insanely busy and I’m in 2 classes 0_0
Constructive anatomy with Michael Hampton rocks.
P.S there’s 21 more of these floating about… but these are the favourites. I also did 150 gesture drawings last week 0_0

Working between digital and traditional so thats why the lapse in days. Scanner doesn’t work so hot anymore.
I’ve decided I’m going to draw horses until I can draw them accurately from memory. Why horses? I am currently studying human anatomy in class, so I wanted a quadruped to study as well that I have access to locally, and wolves/dogs are so overrated.

Day 1 -
Fake pen & ink horses on toned paper.
You win the prize if you know the class I took and learned this technique.

We begin again…Day 1

Moving forward. Many lose ends tied and I feel free to go at Deathline again. #3 bit me in the ass, and then I got over it and decided to begin anew.

There will be no restarting again, I will be brutally honest with my failures as much as my successes. It’s going to be hard, and maintaining the glorious momentum will be the challenge here.

My goals:

1) Speed paint and 1 sketch study 7 days a week. (In addition to regular work)

2) Continue exercising and maintain my physical health despite the aforementioned extra art-ing.

3) Waste less time on self-destructive things and people that hinder my goals.

Minor hiccup

My arting has hit a mild delay. Long story short - important legitimate distractions… then Dark Souls just got too exciting. Yes, it’s certainly a character flaw of mine: I’m an all-or-nothing person, so it’s either 5 hours of art, or 5 hours of Dark Souls.

Middle ground is hard, very hard. I also get bored easily and need to constantly be challenged with new things, I will have to incorporate this into my Deathline Challenge and mix up what I do a fair bit so I don’t get bored. I will also be bidding PS3 farewell this weekend. I will not touch it again at home until my daily studies are so ingrained in my brain to miss them would feel unnatural.

Deathline Challenge resumes on Jan 14, and here’s to hoping to be back with a vengeance. I’m going to call it day 1 again because I can, and I want to do a consecutive 365 days of art.

I will repost my goals with more fine-tuning now that I’m taking note of what gets in the way and hinders me.

Apples! Sick of landscapes… apples are also easy to render in my lunch break. Kinda lost track of time as I got chatting.
I also love this brush… absolutely LOVE this brush.

Bleh. Getting sick of these already and 30-40 mins is not nearly enough time to make them look decent for me yet.
